Made in Japan of glazed ceramic, this vintage Otagiri spoon rest was produced in collaboration with Americana artist Warren Kimble "America's Best Known Living Folk Artist" who has been working as a fine artist, education and antiques collector for more than fifty years. Spoon rest is winter white and creamy latte in color with a yellow and orange speckled and striped fish on dark brown background. The simplicity of this illustration belies its visually sophisticated American Folk Art style. Kimble received the Vermont Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2013 and his most recent gallery show - Folk Art 2017 - exhibited at The BAG in July and August. This practical and useful accessory would be wonderful in a cottage, lake house, traditional, contemporary country, mid-century modern . . . well . . . any kitchen!
